Creative Commons and GNU license Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that enables the sharing and use of creativity and knowledge through free legal tools. Creative Commons licenses give everyone from individual creators to large institutions a standardized way to grant the public permission to use their creative work under copyright law. There are six CC licenses to easily change the copyright terms from the default of “all rights reserved” to “some rights reserved.”
